Sure. People see a whizz kid who has won a lot of money and automatically think they are a great player. As Phil Helmuth said, if 10 million people flip a coin 17 times, a thousand of them will hit 17 heads in a row. Just by the law of averages a few will become millionaires regardless of true skill.
