Razz is the poker game of huge patience, and it is imperative to play ‘tight’, yet try well-timed ante steal when opportunity presents itself. As you may know, razz is ‘ante’ game. Everyone needs to put in ante before cards are played. After cards are played, razz poker plays much like ‘seven-card stud’ with a few, but important points of differences. Interestingly, whosever makes worst hand “gets” it. Just like other famous poker variations, it is definitely worth becoming skilled at, particularly if one enjoys ring games and HORSE tournaments.

Tips and razz poker strategy

Starting Hands
Starting hands are quite easy to keep in mind, in Razz game. If the player has 3 cards between five and Ace, they will have really great starting-hand. A-2-3 is best starting-hand, but any 3 cards between ‘Ace and 5′ (no pairs) is the hand to raise and bet with on 3rd street. The 3-card beginning hands between ‘Ace and 6′ are also good hands and need to be played in an aggressive manner, but with more vigilance if many others with lower door-cards are participating in action. The 3-cards of ‘seven or lower’ is good beginning hand that one will wish to see fourth street with.

Others ‘up’ cards
It is certainly the most important element in a razz strategy. Attentive razz participants will see the ‘upcards’ and get an idea regarding their hand strength. At times, the upcards may even tell one what precisely to do. For example, in case you have 3 cards to a low nine, and there is no upcard lower than nine, then, you indeed learn that you presently have best-hand on 3rd street and so can ‘bet’ and ‘raise’, even if nine low is not the hand which you will play. One can get back on the track with other good low-card on 5th street.

Ante stealing is also imperative, particularly higher up one goes in limits. The most interesting facet of Razz game is little-known fact that once the 5 cards are played, best drawing-hand is ‘favorite’ over nine low.
